Vivian Bernice Russes, born on February 17, 1930, in Cambridge, Massachusetts, to Frederick and Ruth Yerrick. She passed away on May 2, 2025, in Banning, California.
Vivian grew up with her sister in Watertown, Massachusetts and graduated from Watertown High School. She met the love of her life, Gerald Russes after he left the Army. They were married October 2, 1954, and spent 69 years together before he passed away, April 16, 2024. She missed him tremendously this past year and looked forward to their reunion.
Vivian and Gerald built a beautiful life together and raised a family that included their daughters Deborah Russes and Karan Johnson, son-in-law Richard Johnson, and grandsons Kristofer (Carly) and Kevin (Joe) Johnson. She was a cherished great-grandmother to Piper, Porter, and Kingslei. She was a beloved sister to Barbara Beck and aunt to Jamie (Diane) Beck. She was predeceased by her husband Gerald and parents Frederick & Ruth Yerrick.
She dedicated her life to making the houses they lived in, into homes full of warmth, joy, and love. Wherever they lived between Watertown, Ma, La Canada, Valencia, Palm Desert, or Banning, Ca she was the heart of their home, always with a welcoming smile. Beyond caring for her family, she was also a member of the Typing Club, Sun Lakes Golf, Ceramics of Palm Desert, and taught Sunday School at St. John's Methodist Church of Watertown, MA.
Vivian will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who were fortunate enough to cross paths with her. Her spirit and memory will live on in the hearts of all those she loved dearly.
