Rosalee Vivian Salgado, born May 19, 1953, passed away on April 15, 2026. She resided in Banning, California. She was a proud native women belonging to the Morongo Band of Mission Indians and The Southern Sierra Miwok Tribe, honoring her heritage with dignity, strength, and deep cultural pride throughout her life.
Rosalee was a woman of resilience, compassion, and unwavering love for her family. She lived by the teachings of her people and carried her traditions forward with grace. Her presence was steady, her wisdom grounding, and her heart generous to all who knew her.
Rosalee is survived by her son Robert Salgado ; her daughters Natalie Casian, Stephanie & Jessica Salgado ; Siblings Michael Salgado & Valerie Chaira. She also leaves behind many grandchildren and great‑grandchildren, each of whom will carry her memory with love and honor.
She was preceded in death by her father Robert Phillip Salgado, her mother Rose Marie Beale, her brother Phillip Salgado ; her daughter Melissa Salgado and her son Richard Salgado.
Rosalee will be deeply missed by her family, her tribal communities, and all who were blessed to know her. For her spirit now walks with the ancestors, and her teachings will continue to guide those she loved.
Services:
A viewing will be held on Friday May 1, 2026 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Morongo Community Center 13000 Malki Road, Banning, CA 92220.
Pastor Rob Necochea will be the officiant. There will be a traditional all-night wake.
Burial services will take place on Saturday May 2, 2026 at 10:00 AM at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery 11231 Mission Road Banning, California 92220.
