Robert Orlin Hough

Robert "Bob" Orlin Hough, 79, of Banning, California, passed away peacefully at home on the Morongo Reservation on August 31, 2025.
Bob was born on August 13, 1946, in Loma Linda, California, to Clint Hough and Maxine Crawford. As a boy, he loved riding horses with his father, both on and off the reservation. He attended Yucaipa High School before moving to Los Angeles to study at Life Bible College, where he met his wife, Janice.
After graduation, Bob put his plans for ministry on hold while he proudly served in the United States Army as a Nuclear Weapons Specialist, with missions that took him around the world. Following his military service, he dedicated his life to ministry as an ordained pastor with the Foursquare Church. He planted a church in Gillette, Wyoming, and went on to preach and teach in congregations across the US, Australia, Papua New Guinea, and Africa.
Throughout his life, Bob was always running-whether marathons, local races, or miles through snow and blizzards to get to work. Even after he could no longer run, he pushed himself with long bike rides up Colorado mountains. He loved his Australian heelers, who were his constant companions, and he lived each day with discipline, faith, and generosity.
Bob's legacy lives on in the countless hearts he touched through his ministry, and in the love of his family. He is survived by his wife of many years, Janice; his four children, Lisa, Sara, Sam, and Daniel; eleven grandchildren, Melissa, Erin, Sabrina, Joel, Charles, Lindsey, Rylie, Tommy, Josiah, Sydney, and Orlin; and two great-granddaughters, Amelia and Layla. He is also survived by his sisters, Carol and Mary. He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Linda, and his brother Clint Jr.
A traditional wake will be held on September 15, 2025, beginning at 5:00 p.m. and continuing into the early hours. A memorial service will follow on September 16, 2025, at 10:00 a.m., with a meal afterward. Both gatherings will take place at the Morongo Community Center, 13000 Malki Road, Banning, CA 92220.
Bob will be remembered as a runner, a man of faith, a selfless giver, and a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He lived to give to others, freely sharing what God had so generously given him.
