Paul Viramontes Obituary

Paul Andrew Viramontes was a beacon of love and joy to the people he cared about most, his family. Born on November 16, 1974, in San Bernardino, California, Paul passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loved ones on April 12, 2025, at his home in Banning, California. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle, and friend, whose memory will be cherished by all the lives he touched.

He was blessed to spend 34 years with his wife, Desiree Limas Viramontes, who was one of his greatest treasures. Together, they raised a beautiful family, including their children Anthony D. Canchola (Oriana Del Rio), Paul Viramontes Jr. (Ashley Viramontes), Priscilla Viramontes (Chris Saldana), Ariel Viramontes (Austin Ysiano), Madison Viramontes, and Lindsay Saengvilay. He was so proud of each of his amazing children. Paul's joy multiplied with the arrival of his grandchildren, Anthony, Aliviana, Olivin, and Scarlette, whom he adored and in turn they affectionately called him Grandpa & "PeePaw."

Paul was the son of Teresa Irene and the late Juan Jose de Jesus Irene. He was a brother to Sal Viramontes, Jonathan Irene, and Angelica Alvarado. His family circle expanded to include his loving mother-in-law, Alice Deleon, many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, and countless friends who became family throughout the years. Paul’s pets, Michael, Roger Bubbles Gato, and Raider Viramontes, were also among the many recipients of his affection and care.

He held a special place in his heart for his loved ones who passed before him, including his late uncle Michael Leon, his grandmothers Anna Maria Rodriguez and Maria Louisa Torres, his cousin Peter Garcia, and his father-in-law Tony Canchola.

Paul went to Yucaipa High School. He had a strong work ethic and applied his determination and hard work as an assembler at Priority Pallet. His colleagues knew him as a dedicated and reliable team member, always ready with a smile and a helping hand.

Paul was an extraordinary dad, grandpa, and husband, who took immense pride in his family. His love for his "16" was everything. Texts like, "If you were a kiss, I would be a hug" and "Keep your face always to the sunshine, that's why the shadows are behind you" were his way of spreading love. He encouraged everyone to embrace each day with the sentiment, "It's a good day to have a good day," and he lived by the belief that "Our love is like a rose without thorns," and the simple, heartfelt, "I love you, baby", meant so much. He found solace in the notion of "Home" and "Always," signifying his deep-rooted connection and the sanctuary they built together. His playful side shone through in his love of dad jokes and lighthearted requests like, "Can you bring me a sleeve of Amsterdam Blue?" and “S2000”.

Paul would want everyone to carry forward his legacy of love, laughter, and the countless memories he created by embracing each day with open arms, by loving fiercely, and by finding the sunshine even on the cloudiest of days. Paul Andrew Viramontes may have left us in body, but his spirit will continue to forever live on in the hearts of all who loved him.
