Patsy Elizabeth McCarty was a caring mother, grandmother and great grandmother, sister, cousin and friend. She left this world suddenly on June 13, 2021, at age 68.
She was born to Jimmie Neal Michael Wash and Henry Burns McCarty on June 15, 1952 in Jackson Mississippi. After graduating from high school, Patsy chased her dreams and received a scholarship for Art to attend University of California, Berkeley. She had 5 beautiful children. Erica Davis, Trina Dunkley, Eje Ash, Kenneth Aikens and Chad Aikens, 12 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her mother, Jimme; sister, Jacqueline; and stepfather, Melvin Wash.
Patsy was an avid reader and artist bringing to life many oil paintings so vivid they could just walk off the canvas. She created wicker crafts and native jewelry. If you needed your braided, she was your go to. She enjoyed life to the fullest and, if you knew her, you knew not to mess with her. Small but mighty! She would help anyone who needed her, even animals. Over the last couple of years, she attended Shiloh Baptist Church, making sure to attend Sunday school, and bible study.
Patsy is survived by her brother Kenneth Jones; daughters, Erica, Trina, Eje; sons, Kenneth and Chad; her grandchildren, great grandchildren, and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
