Miguel John Placencia

Miguel John Placencia, 70, passed away July 4, 2022 in Idyllwild, CA. He was born October 14, 1951 in Los Angeles, CA to Gilbert and Felisa Placencia. Miguel lived in Pico Rivera, CA for twenty years, Riverside, CA for ten years, Moreno Valley, CA for fifteen years, and Idyllwild, CA for twenty years. He received his bachelor's degree from California State University, Los Angeles and worked as a state employee for Social Services for twenty years, until he retired. Miguel was a Christian and attended Calvary Chapel Mountain Center. He loved his wife, Laurette, and his children and grandchildren. He also loved the mountains, camping, and reading, especially Sci-fi novels.

Miguel will be missed dearly by his father, Gilbert Placencia of Los Angeles, CA; sisters, Rose Horton of Coarsegold, CA and Sandra Placencia of Los Angeles, CA; brothers, Eddie Placencia of Orange County, CA and David Placencia of Seattle, WA; children, Elicia Placencia of Riverside, CA, Gabriel (Brandy) Placencia of Riverside, CA, Nathan (Inez) Placencia of Pomona, CA, Rachel (Adam) Burns of Tigard, OR, David Placencia of Eugene, OR; grandchildren, Marcel Isaiah Placencia-Barnes of Riverside, CA, Alethia Placencia of Pomona, CA, Devin Placencia of Riverside, CA, Robert Richardson of Riverside, CA, Bradshaw Richardson of Riverside, CA, Tavia Placencia of Pomona, CA, Ada Burns of Tigard, OR, Roland Burns of Tigard, OR, ToriAnn Placencia of Riverside, CA, Kaitlyn Fonceca of Riverside, CA, Shawn Fonceca of Riverside, CA; great-granddaughter, Mary Richardson of Riverside, CA; and great friends, Vance Bloom and Ron Hoffman. He is preceded in death by his mother, Felisa Placencia of Los Angeles, CA; wife, Laurette Placencia of Idyllwild, CA; brother, Gilbert Placencia of Seattle, WA; and sister, Maria Lopez of Menifee, CA.

A graveside service and burial will take place at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 12, 2022 at San Gorgonio Memorial Park in Banning, CA, with a luncheon to follow at 1:00 p.m. at 53845 Pine Crest Ave, Idyllwild-Pine Cove, CA 92549.
