Mary E. Johnson

Mary E. Johnson was born July 19, 1944, in Lake, Mississippi, to Andrew and Estella Bell. She attended Sherman Hill United Methodist Church where she was baptized at an early age.
In 1963 Mary moved from Mississippi to Banning, CA where she married her husband of 49 years, John F. Johnson. This union blessed them with two children, Jeffrey L. Johnson and Sylvia D. Johnson. Mary was a devoted wife and full time homemaker. She enjoyed gardening, fishing, sewing, cooking, spending time with family and a variety of other things.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents Andrew and Estella Bell, her husband John Johnson, her daughter Sylvia Johnson, her brothers James Lee. Bell aka J.L. (wife Margaret), James Patterson aka Joe Bell (wife Geneva), and Willie Lee Bell aka Willie (wife Myrtis), and daughter-in-law Jennifer Johnson.
Mary's memory will be be cherished by her son Jeffrey Johnson, Derick Lee (grandson), Sade Thompson (granddaughter), Lavenna Ware (granddaughter), Christopher Amis (God son), Annie Pearl Butler (Sister), and a host of nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends.
Services will be held in her honor, Friday July 26th, 2024 starting at 11:00am at First Missionary Baptist Church 332 N Allen St, Banning, Ca 92220 with burial at San Gorgonio Memorial Park to follow.
