Marilyn Flanigan Obituary

Marilyn Sue Flanigan, affectionately known as Sue, was a beacon of faith and love to all who knew her. Born on October 18, 1959, in Amarillo, Texas, Sue's journey on this earth came to a peaceful end on September 11, 2025, in Cherry Valley, California. A woman of profound faith, Sue's relationship with Jesus Christ was the cornerstone of her life, guiding her through the joys and challenges with unwavering devotion.

Sue's legacy is one of gentle strength and courageous spirit, particularly in her valiant battle against cancer. Her resilience in the face of this illness was a testament to her character, inspiring those around her with her grace and fortitude. Sue's life was a reflection of the well-known scripture, "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me" (Philippians 4:13), which she embodied every day through her actions and her steadfast faith.

Her loving partner and caregiver, Francisco Figueroa, remained by her side, a testament to their enduring love and shared commitment to family. Sue's sisters, Debbie Kraus, alongside her spouse Jeff Kraus, and Lori Johnson, will forever cherish the memories and moments that defined their sisterly bond. Sue's daughter, Christy Flanigan, carries on her mother's legacy of love, a beacon of the family's continued strength. While her daughters Sabrina and Tabitha Flanigan preceded her in death, they remained a cherished part of her story, never forgotten.

Sue's life was further enriched by the joy of her grandchildren Zabrina, Justin, Koda, Anthony, Sierra, Andrew, and by the laughter of her numerous great-grandchildren, who brought her immeasurable happiness.

Professionally, Sue dedicated her life to serving others and being a woman devoted to Jesus. Her work and association involvement were marked by her Christian faith, guiding her in every endeavor and interaction. She found her greatest fulfillment in spending time with her family and her beloved dog, Susi Q, creating memories that will be treasured forever.

The words that best describe Sue are faith-filled, gentle, and courageous. She navigated life's challenges with a quiet strength and a heart full of grace, leaving an indelible mark on those who had the privilege of knowing her.

As we mourn the loss of Marilyn Sue Flanigan, we also celebrate her remarkable life-a life lived in love, guided by faith, and marked by the courage to face each day with a heart full of Jesus' love. Her memory will continue to light the way for all who were blessed to feel the warmth of her presence. As it is written, "Well done, good and faithful servant" (Matthew 25:21), and so we bid farewell to our beloved Sue, a true servant of the Lord, whose spirit will forever dwell in the House of the Lord
