Lorraine Marie Selby

Lorraine Marie Selby was born on January 4, 1928 in Stevenson, Washington to her parents Anna and Charles Sweeney. Lorraine passed on August 9, 2022, at the age of 94 in Pismo Beach, California. She was surrounded by her loving family.

Lorraine retired from Chapman College where she worked in College Services. She enjoyed bowling, golfing, playing bingo and bridge. She loved to travel with family and friends to Las Vegas, Reno and especially to Oregon to visit her sister. In her later years she filled her time solving crossword puzzles. She was proud of her beautiful doll collections and she loved flowers. Lorraine loved to reminisce about the fun she had with her friend Rose in the early 70's as members of the Dodgers booster club. She even had her picture taken with Walton Alston and the key players of the team.

Lorraine Favorite car was her PT Cruiser. She had some fancy detailing added to it and joined the PT Cruiser Club. She enjoyed going on outings with the group and showing off her car when they participated in local parades. We always enjoyed her stories about growing up on the farm with her sister Charlotte Kate and "Daddy" Bill. And just think of how the girls would get up every morning and slop the hogs, milk the cows, feed the chicken, gather the eggs, clean up for breakfast; then walk to school.

Lorraine leaves to cherish her memory one sister, Charlotte Blaisdell of Dallas, Oregon; two sons, Michael Steven Selby and Clifford Randall Selby and two daughters, Jeanne Diane Breese and Peggy Lynn Mayo; 10 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren. A host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Lorraine was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald Robert Selby and her parents Anna and Charles Sweeney.
