Kathleen Joan Funnell born June 16, 1931, to Frances and Mildred Tobin in San Gabriel, CA.
Went to be with her heavenly father, Jesus Christ on May 21st, 2024, at Banning Health Care at the age of 92 years old.
She graduated High School in 1949 in San Gabriel, CA.
September 1954, She met and married John R. Norton of Duarte, CA in Las Vegas, NV.
She was a housewife of an Operating Engineer living in Covina, CA until his death in 1969.
They had four children, Richard L. Norton, Dennis C Norton, Mark A Norton and Georgia L Norton.
She met and married a Glazier, Thomas J Funnell in 1971 and lived together in Banning until his death in 2011.
She worked at several retail stores in Banning, TG&Y, Mathewson's Jewelry Store and JC Penny's.
When JC Penny's closed in 1985, she transferred to San Bernardino until she retired.
She was the oldest of five children, Sister Ann Everett (Rich), Brother Lawrence (Toby)(Rose) Tobin. Brother Victor Tobin (Judy), Sister Donna Bright (Randy).
She was preceded in death by her parents, Frances and Mildred Tobin, Husband John R. Norton and Thomas Funnell. Sister Ann Everett, Brother-in-law Rich Everett. Brother Lawrence (Toby) Tobin. Brother-in-law Randy Bright, Sons Dennis C Norton, Mark A Norton and Richard L. Norton.
She is survived by her brother Victor Tobin, Sister in law Judy Tobin of Martinez, GA, Sister Donna Bright of Portland, OR, Sister in law Rose Tobin of La habra,CA, Daughter Georgia L Underwood, Son in law Ronny Underwood of Banning, CA, Daughter in law Marcella Martinez of Hemet,CA, Grandson Jarrad Sims (Tracy) of Huntington Beach, CA. Grandson Darren Sims(Megan) of Milan, IL, and four Great grandsons, Gavin Sims, Zachary Sims of IL, Hubert Sims and Warren Sims of Huntington Beach, CA.
She was laid to Rest with Her husband Thomas Funnell at Riverside National Cemetery.
There will be a private family gathering at a later date.
Rest in Peace Mom, I know you gave us everything you had, maybe more than you should have.
