Julia Rice

Julia Ann Rice passed away at the age of 77 on August 9, 2021 in her home surrounded by family. She lived in Banning, CA on the Morongo reservation her entire life, where she babysat for numerous families. Julia graduated from Banning High School in 1962 before moving on to work as a seamstress for sixteen years. She was a lifelong member of the Morongo Moravian Church. She loved to cook and bake for her numerous nieces and nephews, watch old western movies, and listen to country music. 

Julia will be missed dearly by her nephews, Robert Rice and Keith Rice of the Morongo Reservation in Banning, CA; nieces, Cindy Necochea and Michelle Rice of the Morongo Reservation in Banning, CA; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, Alexander and Dorothy Rice; sisters, Rebecca, Virginia, and Martha Rice; and brothers, Allen and Alec Rice, all of who resided on the Morongo Reservation in Banning, CA. 

A visitation will be held Wednesday, August 18, 2021 from 4:00pm-6:00pm with prayer to follow from 6pm-7:00pm at Wiefels & Son Mortuary in Banning, CA. A graveside service will take place Thursday, August 19, 2021 at 10:00am at the Morongo Moravian Cemetery on the Morongo Indian Reservation in Banning, CA.
