John Julius Walker, age 100, passed away on February 11, 2020 at his Loma Linda, CA home. John was born in Holtville, CA on September 17, 1919. Johnny served in the Navy as an Aviation Machinists Mate First Class (T). He was a retired independent roofer of 50 years. A member of the Moose Lodge and St. Mary’s Catholic Mission of the Morongo Indian Reservation, Banning, CA.
John is survived by his daughters, Sharon Mathews of Banning, CA and Carol Walker of Banning, CA; son, Howard Chapman of Temecula, CA; grandsons, Cliff Mathews of Banning, CA, Joehenry Turbyfill, Tucson, AZ; granddaughters, Christina Mathews of Calexico, CA and Candice Humphrey of Indianapolis, IN; great-granddaughter, Tianna Lister of Perris, CA; great-grandson, Isiah Lister of San Jacinto, CA; nephews, Ted Springer and Tony Springer and their families and many other friends of family who loved him dearly. He was preceded in death by his wife Jane Walker; granddaughter, Kathy Lee Quintanilla; brother, Ted Springer, Sr;
Visitation will take place from 4:00pm-8:00pm with Rosary at 6:30pm on Friday, February 21, 2020 at Wiefels & Son Mortuary, Banning, CA. Funeral Mass at 10:00am, Saturday, February 22, 2020 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Morongo Indian Reservation, Banning, CA, with burial to immediately follow at San Gorgonio Memorial Park, Banning, CA.
