Herbert Lee, Jr. Obituary

Herbert Lee Jr (better known as Herbo or Junior) was born
December 07, 1947, to the late Herbert and Mae Ella Paden Lee
in Fort Smith, Arkansas. Herbo entered eternal rest on Friday
April 24, 2026. Herbo was preceded in death by siblings, Kathy
Brasfield, Ellectrice Fields "Miss Lee", Stanley Lee Sr. "Bee",
Brenda Surrell "Shoe" and Jerry Lee Sr.
Herbo attended Lincoln High School where he earned his High
School diploma in Fort Smith, AR, class of 1966. Herbo was an
active football player for the Lincoln Tigers. Herbo was an active
participant with the Lincoln Alumni where he served until his
departure.
Herbo proudly served his country in the United States Marine
Corps where he fought in the Vietnam War. Herbo transferred to
Marine Corps Reserve in Twentynine Palms, California. During
his 4-year enlistment, he distinguished himself through hard work
and dedication, ultimately achieving the rank of Sergeant E5.
Once discharged from the Marine Corps in 1970 he chose to
make California his home. As the Marine Corps ended, Herbo
continued his journey to become a licensed electrician, receiving
his license in 1978.
Herbo gave his life to Christ at an early age and served as a
deacon before becoming an ordained minister in 1990. Herbo
served several congregations during his decades of ministry.
Later in his ministry he became the officiating pastor of First
Missionary Baptist Church, Banning, CA.
On June 8, 1984, Herbo married his wife, Juelene Lee. United in
marriage they raised four wonderful children Thomas, Damien,
Shaprey and Le Andra.
Herbo was a hard-working man who loved serving the Lord,
volunteering whenever needed, and spending time with his family
and friends. In Herbo's free time he enjoyed playing dominoes,
bid whist, working on projects around the house and traveling.
Herbo leaves to cherish his memories, his wife Juelene Lee, his
children, Thomas Harris Jr. (Melanie), Damien Harris (Christana),
Shaprey Lee, and Le Andra Taylor (Otto). His grandchildren
Deryhan Harris, Jayden Harris, Jocelyn Harris, Mikaela Harris,
Thomas Harris III, Zavian Harris, Jumaane Sanders and Jewelia
Harris. Six siblings Phylis Bell, Bessie Warren (Terry), Bobby Joe,
Marilyn Reese, Donna Waterbury and Dorothea Cherry all from
the city of Fort Smith, Arkansas. God children Ajee-Aonna Glover,
Javion Brown and Isaiah Bridgmon. He is also remembered by
Kelechukwu Onuoha, who held a special place in his heart. A host
of nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, in-laws, cousins
and friends.
Herbo's sense of humor, outspoken personality and unforgettable
smile will forever be embedded in the hearts of many, as he will
be missed dearly.
