Gary Ray Wallis SR., 66, passed away on August 22, 2025, in Phoenix, Arizona, as he was making his way back to his hometown.
Born on November 24, 1958, in El Centro, California, to James Ray Wallis Sr. and Petronila Patricia Medina. Gary spent his life working hard in carpentry and construction. He was proud of the work he built with his hands, but what people will remember most is the joy and comfort he brought to others.
Gary was well known throughout town for his laughter, his quick wit, and his ability to listen when someone needed it most. He had a gift for making people feel lighter, even when the world felt heavy.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Patricia and Jim Wallis, and his brothers Jesse, Larry, Richard, Robert, Jerry, Alexander Wayne and Kenny Wallis.
He is survived by his siblings Laurie Wallis, Annie Wallis-Gonzales, and Jimmy Wallis, his children Gary Ernesto Wallis Jr, Priscilla Christine Wallis, and Thomas James Wallis; and his four beloved grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at Wiefels & Son in Banning on October 10, 2025 at 11:00 AM. Following the service, a celebration of life will take place at the Community Center in Cabazon, California, from 2:00 to 6:00 PM.
Gary's presence, warmth, and humor will be deeply missed but forever remembered by all who knew and loved him.
