Donald Sylvester Gonzales, born on February 19, 1960, in Castro Valley, California, passed away on March 31, 2026, in Banning, California, leaving behind a life remembered with love, faith, and quiet strength.
He graduated from Banning High School in 1978. Donald spent about ten years working as a ranch hand, where he developed a strong work ethic and a practical, dependable character. After that, he took on a variety of odd jobs, always willing to do what was needed and to lend a hand wherever he could.
Donald was especially known for the love he showed his nieces and nephews, to whom he was a caring and affectionate uncle. He shared a particularly special bond with his godson and caregiver, Arron Gonzales, whose presence in his life brought him comfort and companionship.
He is survived by his brother, Joseph Anthony Gonzales; his sister, Roxine Yoder (Fritz), who live in Ohio; his sister, Jovannah Meek (Raymond), who live in Missouri; his brother, Michael Gonzales (Theresa) who live in Banning, Ca; his godson and caregiver, Arron Gonzales; and his nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Andrea Gonzales, as well as his niece, Deana Lovings.
Donald Sylvester Gonzales will be remembered for his faith, his hardworking nature, and the love he gave so freely to his family. His memory will remain in the hearts of those who knew him, and his life will be cherished as one marked by devotion, kindness, and enduring family bonds.
