Andrea Palacios Gonzales, a beacon of love and faith, passed away peacefully on December 18, 2024, at the age of 89, in her hometown of Banning, California. Born on March 4, 1935, to Sylvester and Isabel Palacios, Andrea was a lifelong resident of Banning, except for a few years she spent in Tracy, Ca.
Andrea's journey through life was one of enduring love and commitment, exemplified by her 69-year marriage to her beloved husband, Joseph C. Gonzales. Together, they built a family foundation that would grow to include their children, Joseph A. Gonzales, Jovannah Meek (Ray), Roxine Yoder (Fritz), Donald Gonzales, and Michael Gonzales, as well as their daughter-in-law, Theresa Gonzales. Andrea's legacy continued to blossom with her 11 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren, with two more on the way, and three great-great-grandchildren, with another on the horizon.
The matriarch of her family, Andrea was the last living sibling of her brother, John Palacios. She was preceded in death by her parents, Sylvester and Isabel Palacios, her granddaughter Deana Lovings, and her grandson Lil Robbie Hielkema. Her family was her pride and joy, and she cherished every moment spent with her loved ones, especially her grandchildren, who were the light of her life.
Andrea was a proud graduate of Banning High School, and upon completing her education, she dedicated her professional life to her work as a seamstress. She retired in 1990, leaving behind a legacy of beautifully crafted garments and a reputation for meticulous attention to detail.
A devout member of Precious Blood Catholic Church, which later became Saint Kateri Tekakwitha, Andrea's faith was a cornerstone of her existence. She lived her life as a testament to her beliefs, embodying the virtues of love, kindness, and faithfulness in every action.
Andrea's interests reflected her vibrant spirit. She was a fan of the LA Dodgers and enjoyed cheering them on along with many football games. She loved to read and spend time making memories with her grandchildren.
Those who knew Andrea will remember her for her loving nature, her kind heart, and her unwavering faith. She was a woman who brought light into the lives of all who had the pleasure of knowing her, and her memory will continue to inspire those she left behind.
Andrea's life was a journey of love, laughter, and faith. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who were touched by her gentle spirit. Her memory will be cherished and kept alive through the stories shared by those who loved her and the many lives she influenced.
A Memorial Gathering for friends and family will be held Friday, January, 3, 2025 from 3:00 - 5:00 pm at Wiefels & Son Memorial Chapel 50 E Nicolet St, Banning, Ca 92220
