Albin Joseph Malinowski Jr. was born on July 14th, 1947 in Binghamton N.Y. and the Lord called him home while surrounded by family on December 22nd, 2021.
Al moved to California in 1968 to avoid the dreaded New York winters and sign with the California Angels but he never left his lifelong friendships with Mark & Janie, Chuckie & Malinda and Gary & Barb. When Al decided to stay in California he met the love of his life Claudia "Coco" Malinowski in 1970 and they were married in 1971 for over fifty years.
Albin is survived by his wife Claudia; brothers Walter & Cynthia and Bill; children Scott, Grant & Amber, Megan & Michael, Brett & Valentina; and "Papa" to his Grandchildren Amanda, Alexandria, Alaina, Reagan, Aria and Nikolia; Niece Ashley and Nephew Paul.
Al loved his family and was with some family member almost every day and went over the top on Christmas for his family especially on his present decorating. Al or "Big Al" as he was commonly called was an avid fisherman who couldn't see a body of water and not fish it. Al also had a lifelong love for baseball, bowling, playing pool, playing darts, shooting and traveling. Like Big Al Sr. Al played professional baseball making minor league teams for the Angels. Al was always friendly to strangers and could talk forever which would always prompt "Dad did you know that person" the response would always be "No, just met them".
Big Al worked as a general contractor for 47 years also teaching contracting to troubled youth with his friend John Latsko. Big Al worked on investment properties later in his career helping build Banner school in San Bernardino with friend Bruce Herwig.
Al and Coco retired to Sun Lakes and had many friends he loved there. He has left an indelible mark on everyone he met and will never be forgotten, love you Sweetheart, Love you Dad, Love you Papa...
A memorial for Big Al is to be held at Sun Lakes ballroom in Banning, CA on Sunday January 30th, 2022, 12-3. The memorial will also be live streamed for those who are unable to attend in person.
