Sallie Eastland passed away April 26, 2018 at her home in Banning. She was 87. Sallie was born on Jan. 6, 1931 in Idabel, Okla. She lived in Idabel from birth to 1969. In 1969 she moved to Los Angeles and relocated to Banning in 1971.
Sallie was a member of the Institute of Divine Metaphysical Research Banning Branch until her passing.
She is preceded in death by her father, Lorenzo Eastland; mother Jennie Eastland; sons, Harold “HJ” Harris and Jeffrey L. Harris; sisters, Dorothy Collins, Bertha Smith, Erma Allen and Fanny Browner; brothers, William Eastland and Lorenzo Eastland, Jr.
She is survived by her daughters Jacquolyne Allen, Patricia Nelson, Karen Bryant, Cheryal Harris, all of Banning, and Jennie Turner, of Beaumont; sons, Carnell White, Sr. of Desert Hot Springs, Darnell White, of Banning and Marlon Harris, Sr. of Rineyville, Ky.; sisters, Bertha Coulter of Oakland and Otha Conner of Bakersfield; 31 grandchildren; 44 great-grandchildren; and 18 great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, May 6, 2018 from 1 to 6 p.m. at Wiefels and Son Mortuary in Banning. Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, May 7, 2018 at 11 a.m. at Life Point Church in Banning. Burial will follow service at San Gorgonio Memorial Park.
