Robert Curtis Crouch

Robert Curtis Crouch Jr. passed away at home in Banning, California on October 20, 2018.

Robert was born in Los Angeles, California on August 9, 1934 to Robert Curtis Crouch Sr. and Effie Elvira (Olson) Crouch. Bob graduated from Montebello High School in 1952, and received a Bachelors Degree in History from California State University at Los Angeles in 1956. Bob served in the U.S. Army Reserve, 63rd Infantry, 163rd Signal Battalion.

Bob married Shirley Ann Deppman on April 27, 1957 in Long Beach, California. He was a long time resident of West Garden Grove and Banning, California.

Bob taught in the Montebello Unified School District for 37 years. He taught at Bell Gardens Jr. High School, Bell Gardens High School, and Schurr High School. He also taught Photography in Adult Education. Bob also taught a class on Computers in Education at California State University at Los Angeles.

Bob was preceded in death by his daughter Cheryl Lynne (Crouch) Griffie. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Shirley Ann (Deppman) Crouch; his son Robert Curtis Crouch; grandchildren Rachel Crouch, Alex Crouch, Emma Griffie, and Ellyn Griffie.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association in memory of Robert C. Crouch.
