Richard L. Boe of Indio, CA, age 80, died in Palm Desert, CA on June 17, 2018. He was born June 11, 1938 to Chris and Vera Boe in Banning, CA.
Richard graduated from Banning Union High School in 1956, attended San Bernardino J.C and graduated from San Jose State College in 1962 with a B.A. in music and a Special Secondary teaching credential in music. His main instrument played was a trumpet. He taught band for two years in North Highlands, CA just outside of Sacramento, band and choir for 9 years in Sebastopol, CA, and twenty years full time band in the Coachella Valley Unified School District. He retired in 1998 only to teach part time for ten years still in the CVUSD. He taught elementary and middle school band and choir throughout his teaching career. He also studied and passed his Real Estate Broker’s Exam and practiced R.E full time for four years in Sebastopol from 1974, and part time there after in the Coachella Valley. He was 100% retired in January of 2009.
Richard married Tula Calderon of Coachella in 1987. He is survived by his wife, Tula, three sons, David Boe of Vista, CA, Donald Boe of Lake Jackson, TX, Danny Boe of San Marcos, CA, seven grandchildren, two nieces and one nephew, Christi, Karen and Steven respectively.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents, Chris and Vera, his brothers, Ronald and Robert Boe, the mother of his son’s, Catherine Boe, sister-in-law, Carol Boe several aunts, uncles and nephew, Mike Boe.
