Lois S Deans

March 18, 1925 ~ December 21, 2018 (age 93) 93 Years Old

Lois Lena Schworer Deans was born March 18th, 1925, to Joseph and Lillian Schworer, in Schenectady, New York. She passed away peacefully on December 21, 2018, both into the arms of God and the love of her life, William (Bill) Warren Deans.

Lois and Bill met during their family camping trips on Cape Cod, when Bill was the captain of a Scavenger Hunt, and asked Lois to be on his team. Their love story blossomed from there, dating throughout the end of Lois’s high school years, when both of them were working at General Electric, and during Bill’s military service in WWII. They were married six weeks after Bill returned from the war, March 2nd, 1946, and on their honeymoon made a pact to each other they would travel the world together. The two of them visited a total of 40 countries throughout their 72 years of marriage, until Bill’s passing in May 2018.

Lois was a devoted wife and mother, and loved her children above and beyond. She was the ultimate General Electric corporate wife, a phenomenal cook and hostess, a health food guru way before her time, and was always yearning to learn new things. Lois loved traveling, square dancing, ballroom dancing, gardening, family reunions and spending time with all of her grandchildren.

Lois was proceeded in death by her loving husband William Warren Deans, her parents Joseph and Lillian Schworer, and her brother Carl Schworer. She is survived by her sister Berenice Perkis of Margate, FL; son Keith and his wife Dr. Jeanne Gratiot of Ada, MI; son Kevin Deans and his wife Lisa of Summerfield, NC; son Doug Deans and his wife Jolyn of Banning, CA; daughter Laurie O’Leary and her husband Bill of Whitefish, MT; grandchildren Kimberly, Sean, Meghan, Will, Daniel, Kelly, Jeremy, Kaitlin, Kyle, Erin, and one great-grandchild Poppy.

A celebration of Life will be held at Riverside National Cemetery at a later date, when Lois and Warren will be interred together.
