Liselotte "Lottie" Medrano, 92, passed away on December 29, 2019, with her family by her side.
Born to the late Karl and Katharina Scherzer, December 24, 1927 in Kitzigen, Germany.
Liselotte or 'Lottie' was an apprentice in a winery during World War II. She arrived in New York City in 1950. She moved to Chicago, Illinois where she married the love of her life Andrew P. Medrano, who preceded her in death in the year 2000.
She loved to cook and had a great sense of taste, and never missed a chance to cook something delicious when her children were home. She loved spending her extra time reading German novels, crocheting, knitting and gardening. She loved children and also raised several foster children. She said there is always enough food for one more.
Liselotte is survived by four children, Catherine Tepper, of San Jacinto, California, Jackie Daoud, (Chafic), of La Cresenta, California, Delores Teske, (Craig), Buckley, Illinois, and Richard Medrano, (Denise), Fontana, California. She is also survived by seven grandchildren, one grandchild who preceded her in death, and seven great grandchildren.
A viewing will be arranged at 10:00 am at Wiefels & Son Mortuary, Banning, CA. The service will be held at 12:00 pm followed by the burial at Riverside National Cemetery at 2:00 pm.
In lieu of flowers, the guest are requested to please make a donation to the Alzheimer's Foundation or the charity foundation of their choice.
