John Joseph Prokop

John Joseph Prokop, 86, passed away at his home in Cherry Valley, CA on August 12, 2018. He was born in Cleveland, OH on October 24, 1931 to his parents Steve and Lottie Prokop.

John was on his High School track team; served in the United States Navy-EMPFN, USNR-V6, and Korean Service; rewarded 2 stars & honorably discharged.

John was a member of the Knights of Columbus and the parish at St. Kateri Tekakwitha Catholic Church in Beaumont, CA. He worked for over 50 years in the Grocery Business.

John was a loving & caring man that loved his wife and family. He was very faithful to his religion, his favorite holiday was Christmas. He loved all sports, his favorite team was the Lakers and his favorite pastime was watching TV.

John is survived by his loving wife of forty-seven years, Nilda Prokop; nine children; nineteen grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Steve & Lottie and sister, Elenor.

A memorial service will take place on Friday, August 24, 2018, 10:00 a.m., St. Kateri Tekakwitha Catholic Church, Beaumont, CA. Inurnment will be on Monday, August 27, 2018, 1:30 p.m., Riverside National Cemetery, Riverside, CA.
