Carolyn F. Hegner

Carolyn Frazell Hegner, age 90, entered into eternal life with our Lord Jesus on May 28, 2018, in Banning, CA. She was born in Broken Bow, Nebraska, on March 16, 1928, to The Rev. Mason and Marietta Frazell. She was the youngest of 4 children. Carolyn married the love of her life, John G. Hegner, in Lake Worth, FL. They were married for 64 years.

Carolyn was a kind, sweet, and loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She enjoyed cooking for her family, sewing clothes for her children and grandchildren, gardening, and singing in church and community choirs. Wherever she lived, she was actively involved in her church. She resided in Banning for the last 5 years, and previously lived in Paradise, CA for 21 years, Manhattan Beach, CA for 30 years, and Torrance, CA for 6 years.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, John G. Hegner, son, Robert Hegner, parents, Mason and Marietta Frazell, and sister, Frances Whitzell.

Carolyn is survived by her daughters, Janet Hegner Wales of Cherry Valley, CA, Susan (Mark) Bowers of Hansville, WA, son, David Hegner of Torrance, CA, granddaughters, Brianna, Jennie, Lorien, Alicia, and Rachel, 9 great-grandchildren, brother, Ted Frazell of Orchard Park, NY, and sister, Jennie Hilsee of Philadelphia, PA.

A Celebration of Life will be held on August 4, 2018, at St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church in Beaumont, CA at 11 a.m. In Lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to Carol’s Kitchen, P.O. Box 364, Calimesa, CA 92320 or to St. Stephen’s Church.
